Starlings are fascinating creatures known for their shimmering plumage and complex social behaviours. These birds are capable of amazing aerial displays, often forming vast flocks that create stunning patterns in the sky, known as murmurations.
Folklore suggests that seeing a starling is a sign of change or transformation. Their ability to mimic a variety of sounds, including human speech, adds an element of mystery to their already enchanting presence.
They are a common sight in parks and gardens, adding a touch of the wild to urban settings.
This striking image captures two starlings in mid-flight, each displaying their speckled plumage against a backdrop of soft clouds. The positioning of the birds adds a sense of depth and movement, as if they’re caught in an aerial dance.
